Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, Inc. (CSSI) is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team!

As our Senior Accountant, you will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer and play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial information. What You'll Do- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounting transactions
- Prepare accurate accounting reports and communicate results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial performance
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform daily and monthly financial reconciliations, including credit card transactions and settlements, prepaid accounts, bank refund accounts, and refund activity
- Research and resolve account discrepancies
- Prepare and file state sales and use tax returns accurately and on time
- Assist with financial audits
- Provide monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in forecasting and financial standards processes
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 2 years of accounting or finance experience
- Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information appropriately
E nsure the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
- Assist with financial audits
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Perform daily and monthly financial reconciliations, including credit card transactions and settlements, prepaid accounts, bank refund accounts, and refund activity, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Process Sales and Use Tax Returns
- Provide monthly reporting to various individuals and entities
- Timely and accurate state sales tax return filings
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of Office and Windows environment
- Basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 2+ years accounting / finance experience required
