Position: Counter Support Clerk Supervisor #1772 - Child Support - Juvenile Court Clerk

this is a departmental promotional opportunity. Only current employees of the hamilton county juvenile court clerk child support division will be considered for this position.

under general supervision, provides administrative, managerial, and supervisory support to the office of the hamilton county juvenile court clerk in the management of court records and electronic client case files, including assisting parties, attorneys, various local and state agencies, and magistrates with the administration and resolution of client legal matters. Provides direct supervision to staff as requested by the director of the juvenile court clerk.

The employee in this position is paid a salary rather than an hourly wage for this position. Hamilton county government expects an employee in this position to complete the work assigned regardless the number of hours involved in completing the tasks assigned.

tasks

provides administrative and managerial support and assistance in the daily management of the juvenile court clerk’s office; coordinates resources involving judges, staff, court security personnel, attorneys, juveniles, and law enforcement personnel; supervises, manages, administers and coordinates staff activities and schedules; participates in personnel management processes; reviews, recommends and implements quality control procedures to maintain compliance with statutes, rules, administrative orders, operational policies and procedures, and various state and local guidelines.

prepares schedules and work assignments for counter support clerks; reviews staff operations and compliance to operational standards and other requirements; responds to, and within the scope of authority, resolves legal and procedural issues and problems for parties, attorneys, and partners in person at the clerk’s counter or telephonically; determines staff and office training needs/requirements; provides in depth training for deputy clerks who serve at the counter for parties and attorneys wishing to file legal proceedings, pay fines or fees, or otherwise utilize the court’s services;

completes performance reviews for counter support clerks and oversees retraining and performance improvement plans, when necessary. Responds to, and within the scope of authority, resolves financial and non-financial issues and problems. Gathers, compiles, and records statistical and financial data; produces financial and statistical studies and reports.

oversees and participates in the preparation of various court orders, documents and forms; enters and/or oversees entering of case-related data into electronic data management system; responds to inquiries from parties, attorneys, and court partners in person or by telephone and in writing; identifies and recommend methods to improve management and operation of the court involving enhanced work processes, increased court system responsiveness, efficient use of judicial resources and quality service delivery.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
