Oaklyn Consulting is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst with 1–2 years of relevant experience to support transaction execution, financial analysis, research, and presentation development in the context of transaction advisory engagements for client, referral partner relationship management and marketing. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, analytical, detail-oriented, highly responsive, and motivated to grow in a collaborative, client-focused investment banking environment.

The mission of this role is to help the firm serve more clients by providing high-quality analytical and operational support across engagements, and by supporting ongoing sales, marketing and channel partnership efforts

Key Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Modeling
  • Read, interpret, and analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement)
  • Identify run-rate financial characteristics of businesses
  • Benchmark financial ratios and operating metrics
  • Conduct valuation, credit analysis, and comparable company/transaction research
  • Present analysis clearly using spreadsheets and presentation materials
Research & Deal Support
  • Research and rank potential buyers, investors, lenders, or deal partners
  • Develop buyer/investor lists by analyzing market landscapes, investment criteria, deal histories, and financial profiles
  • Score and prioritize prospects using structured research methodologies
Presentation & Documentation
  • Create client-facing materials using firm-approved templates
  • Organize and maintain client files and engagement documentation
  • Deliver draft materials for internal review and revise based on feedback
  • Ensure materials are accurate, polished, and client-ready
Process & Collaboration
  • Follow and enhance Standard Operating Procedures across Oaklyn’s core skillsets
  • Participate in internal review discussions and project planning
  • Enable senior team members by anticipating needs and proactively supporting engagements
  • Support marketing initiatives, whether on behalf of clients who need to be connected to potential buyers and investors or on behalf of the firm
Professional Development

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (business, sciences, engineering, etc.)
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in banking, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy, consulting, transaction advisory, financial planning & analysis, or similar roles
  • Strong foundation in accounting, financial analysis, and valuation concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Demonstrated track record of working collaboratively and developing followership among peers and colleagues
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
