The Site Superintendent is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Chattanooga, TN, but serving Georgia and Alabama as well. Candidates will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day field operations on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role coordinates and supervises subcontractors and field staff, ensures adherence to project plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules, and maintains a safe and compliant jobsite. The Site Superintendent conducts daily site walks, organizes inspections, manages materials and equipment deliveries, and addresses field issues to keep work progressing efficiently.
The position works closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to communicate project status, resolve conflicts, and uphold quality standards. Documentation of site activities, incident reporting, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements are core aspects of the role.
- Experience supervising commercial or industrial construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, trades, and field crews.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and quality control practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Proficiency with construction management software, basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, documentation), and mobile field tools.
- Effective communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make timely decisions on‑site.
- Demonstrated capability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain detailed project records and reports.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to multiple job sites as needed.
- Relevant experience in commercial, industrial, or municipal construction; prior superintendent or foreperson experience strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or a degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
