Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Onsite (TN)

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (must be from an accredited program)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (internships do NOT count)
- Strong experience in Transmission & Distribution (T&D), pipelines, or grid-type infrastructure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, including overtime on short notice
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineers, contractors, project managers, and cross-functional teams
- Experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar change/project management software (preferred)

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports Project Managers on projects of varying complexity and may independently manage smaller projects. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Core Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution- Assist with both Design-only and EPC projects across engineering disciplines
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycle
- Track project activities to ensure alignment with schedule, scope, and budget
- Support development of RFP packages, bid processes, and contractor selection
- Help define scopes of work for downstream contracts
- Manage contract execution, including change orders and field directives, invoice approvals, and schedule tracking
- Maintain document control systems and project databases
- Manage contractor submittals, RFIs, and drawing logs
- Assist with development of cost reports and budgets, cash flow forecasts, and project status updates for stakeholders
- Support project cost tracking, scheduling, and reporting
- Monitor contractor compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Participate in risk reviews and collaborate with Legal as needed
- Track field progress and project milestones
- Assist with project setup and closeout processes
- Ensure adherence to company safety programs and standards
