Position Type: Full-Time (Weekends Required)
Wednesday thru Sunday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm (Summer Time)
Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Winter Time)
Job SummaryLakeshore Marina is seeking a friendly, organized, and reliable Front Desk Assistant to be the face of our marina. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong attention to detail. You will play a key role in daily operations by assisting customers, supporting boat rental activities, and working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Reception
- Greet customers, guests, and marina members with a welcoming and professional attitude
- Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding slips, rentals, and services
- Provide accurate information about marina offerings, pricing, and availability
- Handle reservations, check-ins, and general customer support
Boat Rental Support
- Assist with boat rental bookings, scheduling, and check-out/check-in processes
- Review rental agreements and ensure all required documentation is completed
- Communicate with dock staff to coordinate rentals and ensure timely departures/returns
- Help maintain an organized and efficient rental workflow
Administrative & Operations Support
- Support the General Manager with daily operational tasks and special projects
- Maintain organized customer records, contracts, and files
- Monitor schedules, reservations, and marina occupancy
- Assist with inventory tracking, retail items, and office supplies
Point of Sale (POS) & Transactions
- Operate POS systems for retail, fuel, and rental transactions
- Process payments accurately (cash, card, etc.)
General Duties
- Keep the front desk, office, and retail areas clean and organized
- Communicate effectively with team members across departments
- Jump in where needed to support overall marina operations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and basic software (Google Docs, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and team‑player mindset
- Previous receptionist, retail, hospitality, or marina experience is a plus
- Must be available to work weekends (required)
- Must be 21+ years old
- Ability to work peak summer hours and holidays
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work both indoors and outdoors
