Position Summary
Amergis Staffing is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable World History Teacher to join our Education team. The ideal candidate will create engaging, standards-aligned lessons that foster critical thinking, global awareness, and historical understanding. This educator will work collaboratively with colleagues to support student success, maintain a positive classroom environment, and uphold our school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver rigorous, student-centered instruction aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards for Social Studies.
- Create lesson plans that integrate historical thinking skills, primary and secondary sources, and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures; use data to inform instruction.
- Establish and maintain a productive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress to families as needed.
- Collaborate with grade-level and content-area teams to plan curriculum, projects, and interdisciplinary activities.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school initiatives.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies and follow school policies and procedures.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License with appropriate endorsement in History/Social Studies (e.g., 6–12 Social Studies).
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Understanding of Tennessee Academic Standards for Social Studies.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and promoting student success.
- Master’s degree in Education, History, or a related discipline is preferred
- Experience teaching at the middle or high school level.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and instruct students for extended periods.
- Ability to supervise students in classroom and school wide settings.
- Occasional evenings or weekends for school events, parent meetings, or professional development.
