The Howard School is a 9-12 school located in Chattanooga, TN. Enthusiasm, drive, and a willingness to explore creative approaches to pedagogy are all important attributes in a teacher who understands the importance of standards-based instruction.
Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
- Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
- Create a well‑managed, structured classroom environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection
- Positive, student‑focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities
- Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
- Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth
- Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
- Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid Tennessee teaching license in 6-12 Social Studies or current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
- Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
- Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
