We are seeking a dedicated educator for a rewarding contract position in the Chattanooga area, beginning August 5, 2026 and extending through May 19, 2027. In this full-time role (35 hours per week), youll partner with school teams while helping students thrive academically and socially.
The specific caseload and age groups will be clarified soon, as assignments are based on the districts final numbers for the coming academic year. Your adaptability and passion for working with a diverse student population will be key.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Valid and active DOE certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching is required
- Experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
- Comfortable working across multiple schools as assigned
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Must be able to complete all required fingerprinting and credentialing prior to the start date
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, according to Individualized Education Plans
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Advocate for student needs and inclusive practices within the school environment
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials for student accessibility
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with the school team
