Lead Preschool Teacher - Downtown Location
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives? If so, we have a rewarding opportunity for you to help children in your area learn and grow, as a Preschool Teacher at our YMCA Downtown location.
As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will provide direction for the program and classroom, implementing a curriculum that fosters a positive environment for kids to have fun while learning and growing.
We are currently hiring for shifts Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Compensation for this position is a range of $14-$18, based on experience. Position is year round. As a Y employee, you receive a FREE membership!
A Day as a Preschool Teacher:
- Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans within established guidelines
- Ensure the safety of the children
- Make ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents/guardians & engage them as volunteers
- Maintain required program records, such as sign-in/sign-out rosters
- Monitor and engage in games and activities with children
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
Qualifications:
- Experience in licensed child care facility preferred.
- Must meet educational and experience qualifications established by state law, including 18 hours of online training and in-service training
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within first 30 days of hire.
- New Employee Orientation required within first week of hire.
- High school degree required; one year of college preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous experience working with children from diverse background in a developmental setting preferred.
- Potty training experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs

- Monday to Friday
