Orchard Knob Middle School (OKMS) is a dynamic 6–8 learning community located in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee. At OKMS, we are committed to accelerating student achievement while cultivating a culture grounded in high expectations, strong relationships, and purposeful instruction. OKMS intentionally exposes students to college and career pathways through structured, real-world learning experiences. Scholars participate in college visits across Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama, building early awareness of postsecondary opportunities. Within the school day, students engage in rigorous, standards-aligned instruction supported by targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities. Beyond the classroom, students have access to athletics, after-school programming, and our eLab digital fabrication space—where innovation, design, and problem-solving are actively developed and applied.

Our work is strengthened through strong partnerships with families and community organizations, all aligned to expanding opportunities and outcomes for our students. We are intentional about building not only academic readiness, but also leadership, resilience, and a sense of belonging within our Yellow Jacket community.

• Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills

• Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
• Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Tennessee teaching license in English/Language Arts 6-8, 6-12 English OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
• Compensation & Additional Info:
  • Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
  • Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
