Position Overview:

To provide academic instruction as an Upper School Spanish Teacher alongside our dedicated middle and high school communities, in alignment with our mission and towards the ends of our Graduate Profile. Course assignments include Spanish I and II, and teaching of students in grades 7 - 11.

This position will begin in January 2027. Candidates interested in a one-semester position (January
- May 2027) are welcome to apply, as are candidates seeking a longer-term teaching opportunity that would continue into the 2027 - 28 school year. Candidates who are also qualified to teach French are encouraged to apply.

CCS World Language curriculum features a communicative, immersive approach requiring the teacher to have a high level of mastery and conversational capacity in the language and a willingness to embrace an immersive environment in the classroom. Students learn via conversations in a highly engaging, structured, and interactive learning experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Instruction

  • Implement an immersive, communicative approach to language learning, with strong and effective student engagement strategies and conversational assessment.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials that reflect understanding of the needs of students and the nature of the content and skills.
