Welcome to Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School where we believe that “All Children are Readers, Achievers, and Leaders!”

It is our responsibility to prepare each student to move to the next level of learning with a high degree of creativity, independence, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Our trained professionals work diligently every summer planning for each new school year to ensure that our students not only get quality instruction but have extra-curricular activities available to inspire and motivate them to persevere in their quest to excellence.

• Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
• Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth
• Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
• Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program

• Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
• Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
