Our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Power Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

- Lead teams for power generation design projects including supporting in a traditional Owner’s Engineering role.
- Mentor young engineers, support in managing client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals.
- Provide design and engineer of record work experience with power plant systems; work on power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems.
- Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and mentor staff as needed.
- Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed.
- Travel: less than 10% for meetings with clients and vendors and project site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, and Revit)
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired
- Excellent communication, written and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team
- Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, and related activities such as lighting, instrumentation and control, and life safety systems
- Travel for client meetings and site visits less than 10%
