• Associates or bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting electrical systems (motors, PLCs, drives, sensors) and mechanical systems (gears, bearings, hydraulics)
• Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)

• Experience with VFDs, motion control, robotics, and advanced instrumentation
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.

A machinery manufacturer of Insight Global’s is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team onsite in Chattanooga, TN. This individual will serve as a key technical resource responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and optimizing industrial machinery in the field, with a strong focus on electrical systems, PLCs, automation, and supporting mechanical components. On a day-to-day basis, the Field Service Engineer will diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues using electrical schematics, PLC logic, drives, sensors, and instrumentation, while performing root-cause analysis to implement effective long-term solutions.

This role also involves leading equipment installation and commissioning efforts, including electrical wiring, mechanical alignment, and PLC/HMI configuration, as well as supporting system upgrades and retrofits. The engineer will regularly interface with customer automation networks, communicate directly with customers during service calls, provide technical guidance and training, and document service activities and improvement recommendations while collaborating with internal engineering teams to enhance machine reliability and performance.
