Engineering Project Manager
Location: 3241 Claude Ramsey Parkway, Chattanooga, TN 37421
Shift: 1st Shift (M-F, 8AM - 5PM or 7AM-4PM)
Hybrid: Yes – 2 days permitted home per week
About The Role: As an Engineering Project Manager, you’ll ensure product design and industrialization, including associated tools, meet Quality Control Testing requirements.
What You’ll Do- Ensure product design and industrialization, including associated tools, are within Quality Control Testing requirements.
- Analyze customer needs and draft PO specifications.
- Define product design concepts to meet customer specifications and GD&T, ensuring design for manufacturing is fulfilled.
- Serve as the main technical contact with the customer during design and tuning phases.
- Provide functional specifications for baby parts.
- Manage and perform risk analysis.
- Manage specifications, manufacturing, and validation of the means.
- Manage product validation and tuning.
- Define the initial statement of work for product engineering, including extended team, project perimeter, development budget, and Optimap Work Packages.
- Define and set up the engineering project planning; manage engineering project reviews, consolidate actions, and provide reporting and action plans.
- Ensure product PRU commitment for design-relevant criteria.
- Allocate budget to the extended team; ensure follow-up of project budget and raise escalation in case of deviation.
- Travel: 10% domestic and 10% international.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience: Five (5) years as a Quality Manager, Product Engineer, Project Leader, or closely related occupation.
- Skills: Design or development of plastic parts for the automotive industry;
Checking Fixture Design/Concepts;
Design Software Knowledge (CATIA);
Geometry and Tolerancing Definition and Concepts; DFMEA Process Management; PPAP Process Management;
Engineering Changes Management;
Planning/Timing Management; and Budget Management.
