This opportunity allows you to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Distributed Infrastructure Market Sector, supporting Substation (Grid) projects and building critical infrastructure for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. Electrical professionals contribute to power systems design by drafting deliverables such as one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and related substation documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
- Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
- Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
- Stays current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures.
- Applies knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
- Uses and expands applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures.
- Creates and develops project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
- Performs basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- Coordinates deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences.
- Supports internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers.
- Proactively seeks out, shares, and applies knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes.
Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Minimum Qualifications- Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screening, motor vehicle records search) in compliance with applicable laws.
