Arcadis is pleased to announce an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Department Head/Senior Civil Engineer (PE) - Land/Site Development Projects at our Chattanooga, Tennessee office.

We are seeking a highly qualified professional with a proven ability to manage and lead a team dedicated to expanding our civil commercial development portfolio within Texas. The successful candidate will hold a Professional Engineer license and possess extensive experience overseeing large-scale, complex civil development projects, including hospitals, airports, residential communities, retail centers, and educational campuses.

Role accountabilities:

* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of civil engineering professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

* Oversee project delivery in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory compliance.

* Manage resource allocation, workload distribution, and performance management for department staff.

* Provide technical oversight and guidance on civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, safety, and technical excellence.

* Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.

* Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

* Contribute to departmental strategy, budgeting, and operational planning.

* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Qualifications &

Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (BSCE) from an accredited institution.

* Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.).

* Minimum of 10 years of relevant civil engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

* Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, relevant codes, and regulations.

* Excellent communication, organizational, and people management skills.

* Commitment to health and safety

Preferred Skills

* Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station).

* Proven track record in client engagement and successful project delivery.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $$135k-170k.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
