Position SummaryDevelop, define, and lead implementation of manufacturing methods and procedures to meet operational excellence goals. Design and implement cost‑control methods, analyze manufacturing cost data, and provide engineering services to all department centers to support cost‑reduction objectives as directed by Engineering Management.
Responsibilities- Evaluate manufacturing processes using product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and material knowledge.
- Confer with vendors, plant operators, and equipment manufacturers to improve manufacturing efficiency and workflow planning.
- Design and test manufacturing methods, ensuring product and process quality through testing methods and standards.
- Provide decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data and trends for product and process reports.
- Maintain product and process data using identified computer programs.
- Update machining processes and methods in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Implement new systems and procedures as designed.
- Apply PFMEA, DFMEA, and DOE techniques to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational.
- Develop and mentor staff and technicians, providing strong developmental support.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional organizations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, organizations, and government requirements.
- Experience with capital project scope development, justification, and management.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Excellent PC/Systems knowledge and skills.
- Experience with CNC; knowledge of automation and robotic applications preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, employees, customers, and external professionals.
- Knowledge of complex manufacturing situations, hardware specifications, quality standards, product development, CAD/CAM, and technical specifications.
