Engineering Manager – Power Delivery Transmission & Distribution

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities for power delivery projects. The role focuses on planning, design, budgeting and execution of transmission and distribution infrastructure, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee one or more engineering teams or an entire department responsible for planning, designing, and executing transmission and distribution infrastructure projects.
  • Align engineering efforts with organizational goals, regulatory mandates, and long‑term client success.
  • Manage project budgets, staffing, and performance evaluations to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Lead initiatives focused on grid modernization, system resilience, and integration of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with operations, planning, construction, and executive teams to ensure engineering solutions support business needs.
  • Develop and enforce engineering standards, processes, and quality assurance protocols across the department.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 6‑8 years of relevant professional work experience in transmission and distribution.
  • Expert technical proficiency in transmission and distribution systems, standards, and tools.
  • Experience budgeting and resource management across engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Detail‑oriented design review and field support experience.
  • Knowledge of safety awareness, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
