Engineer II
Location:
Chattanooga, TN. Permanent full‑time. Reports to Production Manager.
The position reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for process development and improvement at the Chattanooga Site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support for new and existing processes.
- Daily troubleshooting of process upsets.
- Participation in Continuous Improvement Program, Quality process, Corrective and Prevention Action Team, BBS Process /Barrier removal Team, HSES and PSM programs, CAPEX, and Training.
- Lead capital project assignments requiring process engineering and chemistry experience.
- Other miscellaneous project work as assigned.
Process Development/Improvement – Provide technical support of new and existing processes, investigate and solve issues related to raw materials, finished goods, processes, equipment, and training. Diagnose and document root causes of deviations and improve operating discipline.
Technology Transfer – Transfer from R&T to Manufacturing, local toll manufacturers, and intercompany projects; support engineering and documentation.
Asset Utilization Management – Drive OEE improvements through the site’s OAM portal; improve efficiencies via manpower, equipment, storage, raw materials, finished goods, and containers. Initiate projects focused on throughput, cycle‑time reductions, quality, and productivity improvements.
Training – Coordinate and provide training; participate in internal and external audits; engage in HSES projects and security audits; support new technical projects, custom toll projects, and new business opportunities.
Maintain the Process Safety Information program and documentation.
Qualifications- B.S. Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree.
- 0‑5 years experience in engineering support, production processes, and project work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP (a plus).
- Experience DeltaV process control system (a plus).
- Experience with Six Sigma tools.
- Experience with Behavior-Based Safety processes (a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Employee must be able to work in plant, office, and laboratory environments. Travel as required.
