About The Role:
As an Environmental Staff Professional, you will support environmental investigation, compliance, remediation, brownfield redevelopment, and commercial property due diligence projects through Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). You'll apply environmental regulations and industry best practices to evaluate site conditions, collect and interpret environmental data, and develop clear, defensible deliverables that meet client and regulatory requirements. This role offers a unique blend of fieldwork, technical analysis, project support, and professional growth opportunities, with hands-on experience across a wide variety of environmental projects.
- Environmental Field Investigations:
Support Phase I and II ESAs, environmental investigations, remediation projects, and brownfield redevelopment efforts through site visits, environmental observations, and field documentation. - Sampling & Data Collection:
Collect soil, groundwater, soil gas, and other environmental media samples; perform field screening activities; and maintain accurate records, including field logs and chain-of-custody documentation. - Field Coordination & Site Support:
Assist with the coordination of field activities, including working alongside drilling crews, utility subcontractors, and project teams to support site characterization and remediation efforts. - Environmental Data Analysis:
Review, organize, and interpret field and laboratory data, compare findings to applicable federal and state regulatory standards, and support data management and graphical presentations. - Technical Reporting & Project Support:
Prepare clear, accurate technical reports and project documentation that communicate findings, support regulatory compliance, and help clients make informed environmental decisions.
About You:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field
- You have 0-5 years of relevant geo-environmental experience, including consulting, regulatory, or industry roles
- Experience with federal and/or state environmental regulations, a plus
- Tennessee Professional Registration (e.g., Professional Geologist) or the intent to obtain, a plus
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD, a plus
- You have strong attention to detail, creative, and critical thinking
- You have OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification, a plus
You Are Willing and Able to:
- Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:
- Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
