What You Will Experience In This Position
Work on custom customer opportunities such as data centers, energy storage, and emerging technologies to develop tailored electrical enclosure solutions and lead the technical side of the quoting process.
- Partner directly with Business Development Managers and Sales to address technical challenges and help win strategic deals across the Systems Protection portfolio.
- Review customer specifications, create electrical designs, and build solutions that meet performance, code, and application requirements.
- Design electrical and mechanical systems, including one‑line diagrams, interconnects, wire sizing, and equipment selection for customized enclosure solutions.
- Collaborate with outside sales, plant engineers, design teams, and manufacturing sites to translate concepts into manufacturable, compliant solutions.
- Balance speed, accuracy, and cost to deliver quotes on time while ensuring solutions are technically sound, financially competitive, and aligned with customer and business needs.
- Validate designs for code compliance, quality, and alignment with customer specifications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quoting, design, and sales support processes with a senior‑level team (QRF – Quote Reaction Force).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Experience designing electrical systems for commercial or industrial applications, including one‑line diagrams, wiring, and equipment sizing.
- Knowledge of customer specifications, codes, and standards (NEC or similar) and the ability to apply them to real‑world designs.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment where solutions are often custom rather than pre‑defined.
- Strong communication skills: ability to engage in meetings with sales, manufacturing, and customers; translate technical concepts to business and non‑technical audiences; and influence decisions.
- Experience reviewing technical designs or supporting others on specifications, code compliance, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); knowledge of Oracle (preferred).
