Sr. Accountant

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support service industry operations on a contract basis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will manage comprehensive accounting activities for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and upholding financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures for several business entities.

+ Prepare, review, and confirm accuracy of consolidated financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards.

+ Perform detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts and maintain precise subsidiary records.

+ Oversee all aspects of intercompany transactions, including reconciliation and elimination of balances.

+ Analyze financial results, identify variances, and produce reports comparing actuals with budgets and prior periods.

+ Record journal entries, accruals, and develop supporting schedules to document accounting activities.

+ Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes for multi-entity operations.

+ Monitor and enforce adherence to established accounting policies and standards across all subsidiaries.

+ Track and manage fixed assets, including updating and maintaining depreciation schedules.

+ Work closely with operations teams to ensure appropriate expense classification and cost allocation across departments.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

+ At least 3 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.

+ Demonstrated experience managing accounting functions for multiple entities or subsidiaries.

+ In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including expertise with pivot tables and financial modeling.

+ Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Net Suite, Oracle, or other comparable systems.

+ Solid understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidation procedures.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
