Senior Accountant – Project Lead | 18-Month Project Hire

Join TEL at a pivotal moment of growth and transformation through this 18‑month project‑based opportunity. This benefits‑eligible role offers a completion bonus equal to 15% of annual base salary, paid at the successful conclusion of the assignment.
What You’ll Do Financial System Implementation & Project Leadership- Partner with the Controller and cross‑functional teams to support the implementation (planning, execution, and rollout) of a new financial system (e.g., ERP, GL, or accounting platform).
- Lead or support key activities across system configuration, chart of accounts design, and mapping of legacy data to the new system.
- Ensure key accounting reports between the old and new systems are documented, validated, and reviewed regularly.
- Drive data validation, testing cycles (UAT), and reconciliation efforts to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems.
- Serve as a liaison between Accounting, IT, Operations, and external implementation partners.
- Support system adoption through documentation, process design, and user training.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Maintain ownership of key accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close support.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and support corporate tax compliance considerations within system design and reporting.
- Assist with financial reporting, audit preparation, and internal control documentation.
- Monitor and maintain data integrity across financial systems.
- Support change management efforts related to new system adoption, process updates, and organizational readiness.
- Help translate accounting and compliance requirements into scalable system functionality.
- Collaborate across teams to align business needs with system capabilities.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and project support as needed.
- Strong experience in accounting within a Fin Tech, financial services, or system‑driven environment.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP platforms and implementations (Odessa, Microsoft Dynamics, Net Suite, or similar).
- Understanding of subledgers, integrations, and financial system architecture.
- Knowledge of corporate tax compliance considerations within accounting processes and reporting.
- Experience participating in or supporting system implementations, upgrades, or transformations.
- Exposure to change management or process transformation initiatives is a strong plus.
- Ability to work across both technical and non‑technical teams with strong communication skills.
- Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly adaptable to various levels of complexities of people, processes, and systems.
- Systems‑oriented mindset with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to translate accounting requirements into system functionality.

- BA/BS degree in accounting or a related field required.
- CPA or CPA eligible is not required; however relevant experience is essential.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with exposure to systems, ERP environments, or financial technology.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong technical aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
