Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a motivated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality therapy and evaluation services to students in the Chattanooga, TN area. About the RoleThe Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for performing student evaluations, delivering therapy services, and documenting progress according to each student s individualized plan of care and physician’s orders. The goal of this position is to help reduce or eliminate speech, language, and hearing impairments that interfere with a student’s success in the district’s educational program.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a resource to school staff in developing balanced programs for speech improvement and oral communication.
- Provide individualized therapeutic programs for students with speech and hearing impairments.
- Assist teachers in observing, identifying, and referring students with suspected speech or language needs.
- Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of speech, language, voice, and hearing impairments.
- Perform regular screenings to identify students requiring speech services.
- Coordinate referrals to community agencies or specialists when appropriate.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs that correct or improve speech and language deficits.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapy recommendations into daily classroom activities.
- Provide information, counseling, and support to parents and families as needed.
- Deliver in-service training and serve as a consultant to school personnel on speech development and intervention strategies.
- Maintain detailed, ongoing documentation for each student receiving services.
- Manage lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, along with directories of relevant community resources.
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in the state of Tennessee.
- CCC-SLP preferred and may be required based on contract or state guidelines.
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice.
- Current CPR certification, if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, as required.
- Current health certificate, per contract or state regulations.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
