Position: W2 Contract! $500 SIGN ON BONUS! School Based Speech Language Pathologist

Amergis Staffing is looking for a School Based Speech‑Language Pathologist. The SLP in a school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician's orders. This is a W2 position!!

Purpose of Job

The purpose of this classification is to provide speech and language pathology services, including therapy, collaboration with school personnel, and the evaluation, identification, and intervention for students needing articulation, language, and communication support.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with students with various disabilities, including autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and language/speech impairments, providing therapy and evaluations.
  • Assesses, provides therapy, collaborates with school personnel, develops educational goals, and facilitates the IEP process.
  • Implements the requirements of IDEA, RTI, and the provision of inclusionary and individualized services for students with disabilities.
  • Conducts progress monitoring related to all IEP goals/objectives (at least 2 data points per goal each week), and places a copy in the students' special education file, prior to mid‑term and 9‑week progress reports. Uses the data points collected to complete the mid‑term and 9‑week progress reports sent home to parents. Knows students' skill development and uses data to adjust teaching and drive decisions.

Experience, and Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience with a spectrum of disabilities and wide variety of communication disorders, augmentative communication systems and assistive devices.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated successful professional experience.

  • Ability to be a positive team‑player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families.
  • Ability to maintain an openness to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of personal standards, professionalism, and integrity.
Minimum Requirements
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x‑ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
