Respiratory Therapist / FT / Night Shift / $15K Sign‑On Bonus
Join Kindred as a full‑time Respiratory Therapist covering night shift. Salary: $15,000 sign‑on bonus.
Job SummaryResponsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by the physician, monitoring mechanical ventilation, administering medications, performing patient assessment, interpreting hemodynamic monitoring and blood work results, providing teaching and training, and documenting patient status.
Essential Functions- Deliver respiratory care procedures per department policy and procedures. Work in all hospital areas.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures.
- Enter all daily services and charges into the department computer system.
- Verify respiratory care physician orders, including initial, date, and time verification.
- Receive accurate reports; update patient profile cards to reflect current clinical status at specified report times.
- Participate in department in‑services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.
- Notify supervisor of changes in workload and patient acuity.
- Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of respiratory care instruments and equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Perform effective airway management including bag/mask ventilation.
- Assist physician or intubation‑certified therapist with intubation.
- Demonstrate safe suction techniques and use of artificial airways.
- Initiate and perform CPR.
- Maintain continuous mechanical ventilation, monitor, and document.
- Provide timely and accurate updates to physicians and other hospital personnel.
- Recommend changes or modifications to patient therapy by contacting physicians.
- Assist in orienting/training new employees, respiratory/nursing students, and precepting during orientation.
- Ability to work under stress and respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Displays good interpersonal skills when working with residents, families, and staff.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to provide appropriate care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Team‑player who cooperates as a member of a care team.
- Reading and comprehension at a level necessary to perform job duties.
- Good and regular attendance.
- About 0% travel required.
- Education:
Registry certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care (required). - Licensure:
Appropriate state license and National Board certification. - Certifications:
ACLS and BLS (required). - Experience:
Minimum 1 year in an acute care setting preferred.
