Payroll Clerk

Description

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will support payroll operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee payments and related tasks. This is a long-term contract opportunity in the manufacturing industry, offering a chance to contribute to a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately process payroll for a workforce over 250 employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

- Handle full-cycle payroll activities, including data entry, calculations, and finalizing payments.

- Monitor and address payroll discrepancies, resolving issues promptly to maintain employee satisfaction.

- Compile and maintain payroll records, ensuring all information is organized and easily accessible.

- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll operations.

- Stay updated on payroll regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.

- Assist with audits and reporting requirements related to payroll activities.

- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters with attention to detail and in a timely manner.

Requirements

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a mid-sized organization.

- Proficiency in full-cycle payroll operations, including calculations and deductions.

- Previous experience with payroll software required, Workforce ADP experience a plus.

- Familiarity with managing payroll for teams of 101 to 500 employees.

- Familiarity with multi-state payroll filings beneficial.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

- Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and internal departments.

- Up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and best practices.
