Salesforce Developer

Contract (6+ months, likelihood of extension or conversion to FTE)

Our client is seeking a Salesforce Developer & Dev Ops Engineer to support the design, development, and reliable deployment of Salesforce solutions used by company agencies and program staff. This position combines hands-on Salesforce development with responsibility for establishing and maintaining secure, auditable, and repeatable continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes. The role supports mission-critical systems and ensures solutions meet state standards for security, accessibility, compliance, and operational continuity.

• Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex
  , Visualforce
  , Lightning Web Components
  , and declarative tools.
• Customize Salesforce functionality to meet business requirements, including data modeling, workflows, and automation.
• Assist in integrating Salesforce with internal and external systems using APIs and middleware (e.g., Mule Soft).
• Stay updated on new Salesforce features and recommend enhancements.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments using tools like ADO
  , Copado
  , or Git Hub
  .
• Automate deployment processes to reduce manual effort and minimize risk.
• Manage version control (Git) and branching strategies for Salesforce projects.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles where applicable.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Enforce security and compliance standards during deployments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, admins, architects, and business analysts) to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, processes, and deployment strategies.
• Provide training and support for Salesforce users on Dev Ops processes.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• 3+ years of Salesforce application development experience and 2+ years supporting CI/CD, release management, or Dev Ops practices.

Technical

Skills:

• Scripting languages:
  Python, Shell.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD

Certifications:

• Salesforce Platform Developer I/II and Salesforce Certified Dev Ops Engineer (preferred).

Other:

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Experience supporting Salesforce in a government, public sector, or regulated environment

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 / WCAG).
• Experience with automated testing and deployment validation for Salesforce.
• Knowledge of information security practices, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery methodologies.
