Position: Desktop Technician III - Full Time

Job Summary

The Desktop Technician III will be the main technical resource for the Field Services team and will work with other teams to resolve issues. Responsibilities include mentoring new Technicians, maintaining documentation, and training. Provide support for end user computing devices including desktops, laptops, tablets, and related applications, peripherals, and tools in a hospital environment.

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma;
    Associate's Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology
Experience
  • Required: Minimum 7 years of experience with advanced proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing personal computer, telecommunications hardware, and software.
  • Preferred: Position requirements may include related experience;
    Microsoft Certified Desktop Professional and/or other computer certifications or training.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Required: Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified Desktop Professional; knowledge of Apple products and other tablets, mobile devices and non-Erlanger standard hardware
Department Position Summary

The Desktop Technician III provides support and quality service to the client community for personal computing devices and peripherals in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for end user computing devices (desktops, laptops, tablets) and related applications, peripherals, and tools.
  • Perform routine duties with standard procedures; solve routine problems and escalate as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and end users; work under supervision and follow established instructions.
  • Think critically to determine sources of problems and resolutions; install and troubleshoot MS365 products.
  • Maintain professional demeanor, organize work, and communicate information clearly.
  • Maintain neat work area and filing system; work with a team and be flexible for after-hours support and travel to supported sites as needed.
  • Participate in on-call schedules and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Implement preventative measures and monitor service levels; report and document defect/problem data.
Responsibilities & Skills

  • Install and troubleshoot MS365 products; knowledge of Apple products and other devices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; analytical problem solving and planning skills for diverse users including physicians and staff.
  • Ability to plan, organize, deliver customer service, and manage costs.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work with others as a team.
  • Flexibility in work schedule; multi-tasking across multiple locations; after-hours availability.
