Job Description
The Desktop Support Specialist will support the initiatives of our technical services team, providing the highest level of customer support. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues while communicating effectively with end‑users and technical colleagues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Respond to service requests and resolve technical problems promptly, providing top‑notch support to users and business partners.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Monitor, maintain, and administer systems and software related to desktop support, including physical inventory of technical assets.
- Follow documented processes and create new documentation when necessary.
- Communicate clearly and constructively with end users, technical peers, and internal/external business partners.
- Provide accurate and constructive feedback or reporting to management staff as needed.
- Perform various tasks, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Exceptional problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and time‑management skills.
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to prioritize end‑user experience.
- Knowledge of Windows environments (Windows 7/10), Active Directory, and related domain services.
- Knowledge of iOS/Android and mobile device management.
- Experience in a service desk environment, resolving incidents and documenting resolution steps.
- Knowledge of enterprise‑level technical infrastructures and supporting ecosystems.
- Knowledge of basic networking principles.
- Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and application of those principles.
- Ability to follow and create documentation of varying complexity.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Very strong communication skills, capable of engaging end users, peers, and external partners.
- Self‑motivated and directed, with the ability to ask questions when necessary.
- High School Diploma.
- Qualification in a relevant field such as Computer Science preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of support experience preferred.
- Net⁺/A⁺/Sec⁺ certifications a plus.
- Willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willing and able to travel to satellite clinics.
