About the RoleThe Senior IT Engineer serves as a senior technical resource responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex client environments. This role combines advanced engineering expertise, Level 3 escalation support, consultative pre-sales guidance, and strong client-facing communication to deliver secure, reliable, and business-aligned IT solutions.
Responsibilities- Provide Level 3 escalation support and senior technical guidance for networking, cloud, server, virtualization, identity, endpoint-management, and general IT issues.
- Design, implement, patch, and maintain secure network solutions, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, segmentation, remote access, and identity-based access controls.
- Develop detailed implementation and migration plans for network, server, virtualization, cloud, Intune, and Entra , ensuring secure, reliable, and well‑documented delivery.
- Administer, support, and optimize Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Entra , Intune, Windows server environments, virtualization platforms, and related client infrastructure.
- Perform technical research, audits, testing, and performance analysis to identify operational issues, validate functionality, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client networks, systems, hardware, configurations, and project work for internal teams and client reference.
- Serve as a consultative, client‑focused pre‑sales engineer by supporting Account Executives with discovery, solution design, proposal input, and technical presentations.
- Lead technical discussions with C‑suite executives and other key stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, business‑aligned recommendations.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for upgrades, optimizations, or new solutions within existing client environments to improve outcomes and support business growth.
- Execute post‑sales project work, including implementations, migrations, optimizations, and troubleshooting, while coordinating priorities with the Project Management Office and service teams.
- Mentor lower‑tier engineers, share technical knowledge, and promote a culture of engineering excellence, service ownership, and strong customer experience.
- Participate in the on‑call rotation and respond to escalations as needed to support client operations.
- Attend trade shows, marketing events, technical training, and other programs as assigned.
- Utilize assigned company technology effectively and appropriately as a work tool, including emerging AI tools and platforms where applicable to improve automation, monitoring, solution design, and service delivery.
- Perform other related duties as required, consistent with the general nature and level of the role.
- A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the information technology field, with significant focus on networking and customer‑facing engineering roles.
- Extremely high moral and ethical values and standards.
- Demonstrated pattern of business success in “engineering excellence” and service delivery.
- In‑depth understanding of communication and routing protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS).
- Strong experience with enterprise network security technologies (firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, secure remote access).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and networking (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
- Experience with server virtualization and modern hypervisor platforms.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS/NX‑OS, JUNOS, or equivalent).
- Strong generalist IT skills across Windows servers, identity/Entra , Intune, storage, endpoint management, and common SaaS platforms.
- Experience in consultative pre‑sales engineering solutions within an IT services framework.
- Experience communicating with people with different levels of technical proficiency.
- Experience in the development and promotion of a service‑excellence corporate environment.
