Amergis Staffing is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter for the 2026/2027 School Year! The Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trained professional who facilitates communication between deaf or hard‑of‑hearing students and others within an educational setting. Often, American Sign Language (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction, activities and learning discussions.
Minimum Requirements- Proficiency in American Sign Language
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field, preferred
- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x‑ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Competitive pay and weekly paychecks
- Travel package available if you commute over 50 miles
- No weekends or holidays
- Consistent hours – 37.5 hours per week
