Overview

The Brokerage Representative is responsible for sourcing, pricing, and managing freight through the company’s brokerage operation. This role focuses on building relationships with customers and third‑party carriers, negotiating rates, securing capacity, and ensuring on‑time, compliant freight movement while maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities
  • Source and procure carrier capacity to book and ensure execution of committed freight on a spot basis and or in the short term.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with shippers, customers, and third‑party carriers.
  • Source and secure freight opportunities that align with company profitability goals.
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and service expectations with customers and carriers.
  • Match loads with qualified carriers and ensure proper documentation is obtained.
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery, proactively resolving issues.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with insurance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately enter and maintain load details in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Communicate shipment status updates to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify opportunities for margin improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Cultivate relationships with carriers to establish long‑lasting partnerships and develop Solutions’ service areas.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions, lane pricing, and capacity trends.

  • Ability to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidence.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business management required. One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.
  • Logistics or transportation experience preferred.
