We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to safeguard the financial health of our property and provide leadership with accurate, timely data to drive smart business decisions. This role is critical to ensuring strong financial controls, operational efficiency, and profitability while maintaining full compliance with hotel and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protect all hotel assets through strong financial controls and oversight
  • Provide the General Manager with timely, accurate financial data to support decision‑making
  • Prepare accurate and meaningful financial statements for ownership and management
  • Generate and monitor the annual department budget and period profit & loss statements
  • Print daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as required
Controls, Compliance & Profit Optimization
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place and operating effectively
  • Monitor controls to minimize losses, retain revenues, reduce expenses, and maximize profits
  • Report any deviations from hotel policies, legal requirements, or contractual obligations to the General Manager
  • Administer and maintain all required federal, state, local, franchise, and SOP financial reports
Accounts Receivable & Credit Management
  • Manage direct billing accounts and maintain vendor records (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.)
  • Execute strategies to keep Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) under 32 days
  • Handle credit card inquiries, chargebacks, and reconciliations
  • Process returned checks, initiate collections when needed, and reimburse bank fees
  • Prepare and lead monthly write‑off meetings
Daily & Operational Accounting
  • Print daily statements and ensure all backup documentation is complete and distributed
  • Post ledger payments, charges, rebates, and advance deposits daily
  • Record and publish cashier overages and shortages daily to department heads and leadership
  • Process vouchers and manage general office accounting duties
Payroll & Administration
  • Submit payroll bi‑weekly on the Monday prior to payday
  • Maintain accurate payroll and accounting records
Leadership & Team Development
  • Maintain open and effective communication with associates, peers, and leadership
  • Train Accounting associates to perform their duties according to established policies and procedures
  • Provide coaching and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Participate in Leadership Team meetings, MOD program, staff meetings, department meetings, and safety meetings
  • Provide weekly AR and status reports to Sales and Catering
  • Respond to guest billing inquiries and conduct account research as needed
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in hotel accounting or hospitality finance
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, AR, payroll, and credit management
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
