Salary Range: $21.00 – $23.25 Hourly

Job Shift: Morning

Hours: Rotating Schedule; general hours 6am–2pm. Flexibility and varied hours, shifts, and days may be required to support home needs.

Overview

To manage an ICF/IID Residence and perform other duties as a member of the ICF/IID Management Team. Oversees operations of group homes and personnel. Reviews and monitors program data collections; oversees and monitors client finances; prepares work schedules and reviews time records; attends staff meetings.

Responsibilities
  • On-call responsibilities.
  • Attend and participate in meetings:
    • ICF/IID Management Meetings
    • Individual Support Meetings
    • Accreditation Meetings and ICF/IID Survey Exit Conferences
  • Staff relations and support:
    • Use effective communication skills
    • Encourage staff growth and self-development
    • Facilitate teamwork
    • Employ conflict resolution skills
    • Provide adequate supports to staff
    • Ensure teamwork between Day Program and Residence
  • Provide and model direct support to individuals, including:
    • Assisting with daily living skills
    • Communicating and interacting with individuals served
    • Facilitating community inclusion
    • Facilitating family involvement
    • Maintaining an appropriate physical environment
    • Providing transportation
    • Implementing and monitoring support plans
    • Scheduling and attending doctor appointments
  • Program planning and monitoring:
    • Complete required assessments
    • Attend and participate in Individual Support Plan planning meetings and Circle of Support Meetings
    • Monitor progress by reviewing daily notes and data tracking sheets
    • Complete monthly reviews and submit timely documentation
    • Train staff on appropriate implementation plans
  • Managing personnel:
    • Participate in hiring and firing of ICF/IID Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
    • Evaluate job performance and provide regular feedback
    • Coordinate vacations, staffing schedules, and timekeeping for DSPs
    • Ensure proper staffing ratios for direct care and active treatment
    • Fill open shifts as necessary
  • Training and staff development:
    • In-service and orientation of new staff; complete training sheets
    • Arrange attendance at training and online courses
    • Conduct monthly staff meetings with defined agenda and signature sheet
  • Protecting health and safety:
    • Complete reportable incidents and monitor safety issues
    • Practice emergency procedures
    • Conduct monthly fire drills, weather drills, licensure, and documentation
    • Respond to emergencies and promote client rights regarding health and safety
  • Managing finances:
    • Manage staffing budget
    • Manage food, supply, and medical budgets
    • Manage client funds and petty cash
  • Managing regulations, policies, and procedures:
    • Understand, implement, and monitor DOH Regulations
    • Understand, implement, and monitor Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Regulations
    • Understand, implement, and monitor Orange Grove Center Policies
    • Understand, implement, and monitor ICF/IID procedures and guidelines
  • General office work:
    • Includes weekly and monthly paperwork and required documentation
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education: High School or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year supervising others. At least six months of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Basic computer skills. Dependability and responsibility.
  • Physical Requirements: Health must be adequate to perform duties; successful completion of physical examination and drug test. Able to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds. Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Supervisory Structure: Reports to ICF/IID Residential Coordinator, who reports to the Assistant Director of Personnel.
