*** JOB SUMMARY
** The CNC Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Sets-up mills and lathes by loading tools; loading and indicating vises and fixtures; finding work offsets manually or with electronic probe.
* Loads machine by lifting stock into position.
* Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
* Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting tool compensation; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
* Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
* Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
* Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
* Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
** POSITION REQUIREMENTS*

* Required:

*** Knowledge of cutting tools
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate
* Knowledge and experience with quality control tools, processes, and systems
* Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts that apply to machining
* HAAS CNC program adjustments, tool setup, part setup in machine, tool offsets, part offsets
** Preferred:
*** Knowledge of Renishaw probing systems.
* Experience in a heavy equipment/industrial manufacturing setting
* Demonstrated problem analysis and problem solving skills
** EDUCATION*
* *
* Required:

** High school diploma or GED
** Preferred:
** Associates degree in CNC machining
** EXPERIENCE*
* *
* Required:

** 1-2 years’ experience in CNC set up and machining. The ideal candidate must have experience with both CNC mills and lathes with a basic understanding of CNC programs. Must have experience in machining with manual mill and lathe as well. Knowledge of basic computer software including Word and Excel.
** Preferred:
** 3+ years’ experience in CNC set up and machining.
