Exciting Opportunity: CNC LASER Operator (Direct Hire) - Chattanooga, TN

Due to rapid growth, Marathon has a Direct Position for a Skilled LASER Operator at a Steel Mill company located in Chattanooga, TN.

Job Description:

In this role, you'll operate and set up CNC LASER cutting machines to produce precision components. Your responsibilities include running multiple machines, utilizing Metrology Tools, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Collaborate closely with Shop Leadership to deliver quality components efficiently within production schedules.

Job Details:

• Direct Hire Opportunity
• 4 Day Work Week
• Monday through Thursday is the schedule, (40-50 hours per week)
• No Rotating Shift
• First shift is from 7 am to 5:30 pm (Overtime on Fridays as needed)
• Flexible schedule, including some weekends

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate CNC LASER Machinery and associated tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S and Housekeeping Principles
• Set up and operate CNC LASER Machinery (
  Amada or similar)
• Read and interpret Engineering Drawings/Blue Prints
• Maintain Quality Expectations and Inspection Criteria
• Record accurate daily timekeeping
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Activities
• Collaborate with various departments, including Engineering, Maintenance, and Production Leadership

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting equipment (e.g., Trumpf, Mazak, Bystronic, Amada, or similar)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Thorough understanding of reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings/Blue Prints
• Basic computer and CNC programming knowledge a plus
• Preferred:
  Thorough understanding of cutting tools
• Preferred:
  Familiarity with Machining Principles and Best Practices
• Preferred:
  Basic knowledge of cutting conditions and adjustment
