Warehouse Material Handler

Position: Warehouse Material Handler 2
Job Summary

* Receives parts and order information ticket from burner operator.

* Accurately checks to ensure both proper material size and quantity utilizing:

* Tape Measures

* Calipers

* Yard Scales

* Verification of item descriptions on work copies

* Removes burs and slag from parts using hand tools including chisels and hand-held grinders.

* Packages and tags parts for shipment.

* Moves packaged parts to staging area. (via forklift and or overhead/gantry crane)

* Maintains housekeeping.

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

* Operates tumbling machine occasionally to clean parts.

* Monitors work area.

* Demonstrates ability and accepts responsibility to perform other duties assigned by the foreman as necessary to complete the shift.(using table saw for building pallets, empty hoppers with forklift etc.)

Required Skills

Standing on concrete floor - 100%

Lifting up to 50 pounds - 65%

(Can be done using remote control cranes/forklift instead of manually lifting)

Bending, squatting, kneeling to inspect and handle material

(Inspection required on all parts) - 65%

Pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds - 65%

(Can be done using remote control cranes/forklift instead of manually handling)

Reading Orders - 50%

Must wear required personal protective equipment

* Steel Toe Boots with Met Guard Covers/Metatarsal Boots

* Hard Hat

* Safety Glasses

* Face Shield (used when grinding)

* Gloves (leather/rubber knitted)-MUST be worn at all times when banding material

* Long Pants (no loose clothing)

* Hearing Protection
