Job Summary
The Shipping Clerk / Receiving Clerk will prepare paperwork and packages material for shipment. Must plan ahead and meet outgoing shipment goals as defined by Supervisor from sales and production goals. Independent judgment is required. General instructions are received from the shipping department's Supervisor and Lead Person. Accuracy and verification skills are essential.
Responsibilities- Make sure material is packaged to insure safe delivery to its destination.
- Follow detailed written instructions on customer orders and product labels.
- Verify quantities are accurate and post packing slips and material certification.
- Do all export paperwork when needed.
- Weigh packages on shipping scale and fill out all carrier paperwork.
- Help to unload truck of incoming materials.
- Keep accurate and legibly written records for traceability.
- Keep a clean, neat workplace.
- Keep job and department tooling and machinery in good working condition.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to communicate and be responsive to both Sales and Production's needs.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle and transport material to shipping area.
- Move freight using a manual and electric pallet jack.
- May be asked to drive a company vehicle.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to carry out oral and written instructions along with the ability to adapt to different situations.
- Physical condition demands being able to push, pull, climb up and down stairs, lift up to 70 pounds, reach up to a height of 60".
- Standing for sustained periods in the general shipping area.
- Must have basic mathematical skills and be able to read and write legibly.
- A valid South Carolina license is essential.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position; any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our production objectives.

- Confirm correct parts & quantities were delivered
- Deliver materials to correct person and location
- Fill out receiving paperwork & forward to the correct person.
