Material Supply Specialist II

Responsibilities

Works supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material distribution to ensure efficient flow of goods throughout the organization. Receives, inspects, and verifies incoming materials against purchase orders and invoices; maintains accurate inventory records; and identifies discrepancies or damaged items. Prepares, packages, and ships outbound orders while maintaining shipping documentation and records. Safely handles and stores materials, including operating material handling equipment such as forklifts when required.

Supports inventory management, production operations, and assembly processes by stocking manufacturing lines and preparing kitting packages to meet production schedules and operational requirements.

• Performs assignments within assigned production area to complete ordering/staging inventory for production operators and operates a forklift/box van/other large machines to transport material.
• Assists with shipping/receiving duties including verifying shipments, scheduling purchase orders, and adjusting inventoried items (consolidating locations, destroying inactive stock, pulling samples, packaging, etc.).
• Demonstrates ability to identify routine shipping/delivery discrepancies for internal customers. Troubleshoots routine production and inventory issues. Recognizes and reports inventory discrepancies and reconciles each work order to maintain system/inventory integrity.
• Assists with production process by occasionally operating a large/complex production machine in the functional area to demonstrate a basic knowledge of entire production process to determine and ensure proper workflow (awareness of Service Level Agreement importance).
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area following the "5S" Program (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) including safety and security to enable "Just in Time" manufacturing. Coordinates with others to improve overall department audit score.

• Substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
• Works on assignments that are routine to moderately difficult, requiring some decision making.
• Receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
• Ability to research complex problems in shipping/delivery and inventory.
• Knowledge of applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Dynamics).

• Experience in Excel.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems and desktop applications.
