Position Summary

The CNC & Manual Machinist is responsible for operating CNC and manual machine tools to manufacture and finish precision components according to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, and cylindrical grinders.
  • Machine and finish precision components in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Maintain tight tolerances ranging from ±0.0002  to ±0.001 .
  • Verify dimensions and surface finishes using precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Complete production and quality-related documentation as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and team performance objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools, including:
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Dial indicators
    • Other inspection and measurement instruments
  • Ability to inspect dimensions including thickness, diameter, and total indicated runout (TIR).
  • Knowledge of machining practices involving critical tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CNC programming experience using G-Code and M-Code.
  • Machine shop certification, technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Training in precision measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Experience grinding hard chrome, ceramic, or carbide-coated components.
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing and/or 5S environment.
