Preventative Maintenance Technician

The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. This role focuses on preventing equipment failures, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives through scheduled maintenance activities and equipment assessments.

• Inspect Equipment:
  Check machines, tools, and facility systems routinely for wear and tear.
• Service Parts:
  Lubricate moving parts, change fluids, and replace minor components.
• Run Tests:
  Test equipment functions using diagnostic tools to make sure they match manufacturer standards.
• Log Work:
  Record all service activities, inspections, and parts used in computer logs or work order software.
• Follow Safety Rules:
  Obey workplace safety guidelines, such as lockout/tagout rules and wearing PPE

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  2+ years in industrial or equipment maintenance. A background in manufacturing or automated production environments is highly desirable.
• Mechanical Aptitude:
  Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
• Tool Proficiency:
  Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic testing devices,
• Communication:
  Clear verbal and written skills to report equipment issues to supervisor.

Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to the supervisor.

• Lifting:
  Frequently raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is often more than 50 lbs.
• Push/Pull:
  Frequently uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is often more than 50 lbs.
• Reaching:
  Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually more than 50 lbs.
• Stooping:
  Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually more than 50 lbs.
• Standing:
  Standing for sustained periods at a time.
• Walking:
  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks often for sustained periods of time.

Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
