Job Description:
The position involves preparing surgical patients for surgery and providing phase 2 recovery in a Preop holding/Day Surgery unit. The role requires the use of cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and EKG machines, with documentation in the Meditech system. The nurse will work in collaboration with unit secretaries and tech staff, adhering to unit guidelines and ensuring excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical patients for procedures and manage their recovery post-operation.
- Administer IV starts and moderate sedation.
- Assist with procedures including nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan placements.
Requirements:
- Experience in Preop, Holding, and Phase 2 Recovery with the ability to start IVs and administer moderate sedation.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
