Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing Nurse.
Position OverviewWork Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00–4:30.
- Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictability.

- Continuous investment in equipment and patient positioning to support safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room.
- Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on patient care and surgical workflow improvement.
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
- Provide patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
- Take responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification procedures—briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols—according to hospital policy.
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while implementing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team that includes providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists.
- Apply nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and document changes in patient condition and care provided thoroughly.
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- At least one year of RN experience required; surgical services experience highly preferred.
