Pre-Admit Testing Nurse

Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing Nurse.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8:00–4:30.

• Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on patient care and surgical workflow improvement.

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
• Take responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification procedures—briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols—according to hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while implementing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team that includes providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and document changes in patient condition and care provided thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• At least one year of RN experience required; surgical services experience highly preferred.
