Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports center operations, determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and supporting safety and medical issues in alignment with regulations and guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Medical Support Specialist, you will perform duties including:
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility per SOPs, manage medical emergencies, coordinate with the Center Physician and medical affairs, and handle donor transport to emergency care.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring further guidance, including donor safety and eligibility issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and assess if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator, when authorized, to investigate pandemic threats within the local community per EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

CompensationU.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, and other factors. U.S. based employees may receive short‑term incentives, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
