- Prepare surgical patients for procedures in a preoperative holding and same day surgery setting
- Provide Phase 2 recovery care to post-operative patients
- Perform and assist with IV starts, moderate sedation, nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan procedures as indicated
- Monitor patients using cardiac monitors, EKG machines, and ultrasound equipment
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Collaborate with unit secretaries and surgical technologists to ensure efficient patient throughput
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in preoperative, PACU, or same day surgery nursing
- Demonstrated IV start skills and moderate sedation experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience preparing surgical patients for procedures and providing Phase 2 recovery
- Blue scrubs required as unit dress code
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with advanced procedures including nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan catheter management
- Prior travel nursing experience in a surgical or perioperative environment
- No weekend or holiday shifts required, offering a consistent and predictable schedule
