Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), focusing on cardiac, medical, and surgical patients requiring intermediate-level care. Ensure high-quality, individualized patient care while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and monitor cardiac telemetry and other complex medical treatments.
- Perform advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertions, chest tube management, and intubations.
- Conduct thorough head-to-toe assessments and document patient progress every six hours.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment protocols and post-discharge care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Meditech and utilize hospital technology like iMobile and Mobi Lab.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry, PCU, or critical care nursing experience.
- Hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced skills including IV insertion, chest tube management, and EKG interpretation.
- Experience caring for complex cardiac and medical surgical patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
