Program Overview
We are looking to develop the next generation of retail leadership at Sprouts Farmers Market, a Fortune 500 company and one of the fastest-growing retailers in the United States. This program focuses on developing Assistant Store Managers (ASM) who assume responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Program Details- Hiring locations: California, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, & Tennessee (actual store locations to be determined)
- Eligibility: Within 6 months of graduation from a full‑time bachelor’s or master’s degree program (June class graduation requirement: December 2025 - May 2026)
- Onboarding process: 10 weeks of in‑store leadership and department‑specific training followed by 10 weeks of on‑the‑job shadowing.
- Visa sponsorship: Not available for this opportunity.
- Program start date: June 2026
The Assistant Store Manager must be familiar with all departments and activities throughout the store, assist the Store Manager in ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a well‑stocked inventory, and help with forecasts, schedules, and labor monitoring. They also direct, oversee, and evaluate training of perishable department team members, maintain communication across departments, and execute merchandising plans to meet financial objectives.
Qualifications- Obtain or be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree (targeting December 2025 – May 2026 graduates).
- Retail experience or project exposure to the retail industry.
- Dependable and reliable with flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and store assignments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give direction and participate in a team environment.
- Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and engaging customer interaction.
- Ability to manage department staff: interviewing, hiring, training, development, performance appraisals, feedback, scheduling, counseling, and termination.
- Proven leadership to build, motivate, and maintain staff and working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and coordination of sales promotion activities and merchandise displays.
- Compliance responsibility for checking dates on perishables and removing expired food per Sprouts procedures.
- Ability to handle emergencies, crises, and incident reporting according to company procedures.
- Maintain Food Safety certification and comply with all federal, state, and company regulations for labor, health, safety, and sanitation, including OSHA requirements.
- Strong organizational and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods.
